Basically, this is the finalised storyboard. Get a clearer picture of what i was trying to say in my previous blog now. Click on the image to have a clearer view.
Today was more of a time of rest, we didn't really discuss much today as we decided that we should concentrate and do the design, history and cultural assignment which is to be handed up on the next day itself.
Just to tell you what happened briefly during our lesson. Lecturer Wahidah asked the whole class that why should there be an interim assessment. She said that during the interim assessment, the group should have started their production. She added on that during the interim, the production need not be finish as she wants us to be able to do our best ,emphasizing us to do well for the pre- production first before proceeding on.
She also asked us to look on :
- our objective of the production,
- what our video was supposed to do
- and at least have to meet the objective,
- showcase what we have done,
- same time telling the audience that this is a good course.
She gave us information that we are not allowed to borrow the camera this week but only the next week and told us not to overdo our production, just keeping to a simplified version would do if the part were to send out the same message. Telling us that at the end of the day, the audience is the judge.
She told us to do a shooting script whereby one page would be one minute so we have to do approximately ten pages. We are only allowed to proceed on our production once the blueprint is ready. Like i have mentioned before, the pre- production is very crucial and important, if the pre- production is weak no matter how well you film, it will still make you fall. She also asked us questions like how to make sure that when we edit the video it would be easier? She said it is the best time to edit on the shoot itself . Whereby a person would be standing beside the camera man, taking note which take is NG and which is a perfect shot. So that we would be more clear as to which takes are the ones that we want instead of wasting time having to see the whole video and to choose which part to include. This was the example she told us to do

Anyway, the shot list should look something similar to this. She said that we should know these things as it is crucial once we step out of our comfort zone and starting to enter the working society and when we do our SIP, we need to do a shot list, standing next to the director, taking notes. Therefore, Lecturer Wahidah took her time and explaining it to all of us. From here, i can really see that she really wants us to learn and gain not just the knowledge but a skill as well. I can also see how much she cares for her students if not she wouldn't even bother saying all these to us, in details some more.
She gave us extra information on how to deal with a problem when we are facing some digital difficulties which is to do paper editing. So basically having the shot list in itself, it not only makes us know which take is good and making us more clear, and knowing which is the potential ones. When we begin to digitise, we can just look at those with the good remarks. She also asked that before the camera rolls, what must be done to say that the shoot is over? She gave an example that when the camera is rolling ,some commands must take place so that to get the actors/actress ready, all coordinated which most likely will result in a good take i suppose. She also asked us what must the director say before saying camera rolling? the answer is standby for a take, silence on the set, have to give count down of at least five seconds so that the people can get into the mood of acting.
She also emphasizied that since we have limited equipment, we should think wisely and use them wisely, taking the equipments to our advantage. I believe that what all our Lecturer said is for the sake of our future. I believe she wants us to not only produce a splendid production out of this module but also gaining of wisdom and knowledge from her. I'm really grateful for her sacrificing her time, telling us how the working society would be like. After the lessons were over, my group members discussed on the equipments and props that were needed.
Here is the List of equipments:
- camera boom mike
