Oh boy! The song in the horror show keeps playing in my head. Have been sleeping late habitually nowadays. What if i am becoming a 'vampire' woman and that would be BLOODY COOL MAN ! *Evil Laugh*
Once again, we gathered in LT25 but this time with a slower pace, no rushing though. Everyone awaits the samples done by the seniors. Obviously i was anxious myself. When i entered, i saw Mr. Siddons standing infront of the table. He then proceeded and shared with us what he would be expecting in our videos making and told us that we will be creating a documentation of our journey with the hope of attracting people into joining MOI. He said we are free to document it anyway we like and also added that we should go through our project brief and highlight some code words. *Drum Rolls* There it was, he showed us the first clip. However, it was not made by the seniors. Instead he showed us " Lord of The Rings-the fellowship of the ring". Upon watching, one phrase caught my attention and it was 'fantasy rooted in reality'. I was really astonished that the scenes in Lord Of The Rings were actually cited in New Zealand. It was truly amazing.
The next clip " Found on Everest: detectives on the roof of the world" was then shown. I liked the way the words are being typed out accompanied with the sound of wind, giving a large hint that it was associated somewhere that was very cold and windy. Even Lecturer Wahidah found it impressive herself. The introduction was more of what my group had planned but with modifications. However, we also noted after the introduction, they failed to define the objective and that really spoilt the film . To the extent Gary saying he would fail it. Mr. Siddons further elaborated that they didn't compliment the actor's face or rather the face doesn't look appealing. He also added that [ opening- layout, blueprint to audience] which i didn't really quite understand.
" Gangs of New York" was shown next and i must say, i was impressed of how the director used the creation of illusion in his film. Mr. Siddons emphasized that the location and backdrop is essential as it can either build or break a production. We must choose wisely which location would be interesting and not just aimlessly shoot for the sake of shooting. TADAAH~~ It was Mr. Ronald's turn. He came forward, showing us an introduction of Hostage and one word to describe it "AWESOME!!!!". But sad to say the introduction was more suitable of a horror or murderous show and so we decided to forgo that idea of modifying it.
The next clip was "Full Metal Jacket". They used music as an introduction. It was really funny when the guys had to shave their head bald. I could feel their heart broken to pieces and the song accompanied was ' goodbye sweetheart', it was like kissing goodbye to their hair and even their loved ones. I must admit, after watching this, it springs forth an idea of perhaps by adding a song for the introduction as well. We then watched an introduction of Iron man. Everybody thought it was pirated. [ Reason: Too good man.. looks like the real thing] We proceeded watching Monsters Inc. and damn the monsters are so adorable. We saw both the introduction and ending of it which i found it interesting at the end where the blue monster actually open the door and say boo. HAHA i know i am lame.
Wow!! Next the minute you have been waiting for.. * Drums rolling, feets stomping, teeth grinning, eyes popping out, ears going deaf, hands going numb..etc...* Oh my human, the next introduction i watched was "Shot them Up". I can definitely tell you this was the one that really impressed me the most. They even used the guns as the buildings. HOHO.. i must say the director of this film is either too creative or born with too much brain juice. Arghh!! Hope i can steal some of his brain juice man. Even the ending part, where the credits were being shown and blood flows down in between the words. I found it impressive. Do you think i could think like that too? God reply: Of course you can la. I replied: Thanks man. Anyway back to the picture, i was totally stunned, eyes nearly popped out( abit gruesome? Yeh but i like it!!) From here, Ting Yu got inspired and we may want to modify that part too.
Not forgetting, the finale where our Lecturer Wahidah showed us one archive footage, which was "The Fog of War". I liked the way they managed to merge old film with the new one together. It somehow served as a standard reference guide to us. After watching these films - introductions and endings, i believe everyone was inspired to improve on their process of film making. After leaving LT25, i just shared with Yi Chuin, Ting Yu and Aaron what concept i had in mind. I shared that i may want to have the title of the film or even the one that i had mentioned before, replacing the lion's head to Aaron's instead, having a sudden outburst to make it more captivating to our eyes. Leading to the next scene where a button with the word "enter the ride of your life" will be pressed on and lead to the next scene showing the twirl around design entrance and then introducing every of our group members.
Haha.. Pardon me if you don't really get what i mean. Waiting for group members' opinions. Not to mention, we are still in the midst of coming up with a title.. Still in progress. Stay tune to find out more in the next episode.
